When purchasing a new glass or metal
utensil/pot/object to be used in the kitchen for drinking, cooking,
or eating purposes, you must first mikveh the item in a living body of
water.
This means a body of water that is moving (I use my pond
because the water is pumped, it receives rainfall quite often, and has fish - therefore the water must be
living!). Ceramic or chinaware doesn't need to be put in the mikveh.
Recite the blessing before you dunk the items:
Baruch Atah Hashem, Eloheinu Melech HaOlam, asher kidshanu
b'mitzvotav v'tzivanu al tevilat kelim.
Got an item that needs to be dunked? Come to Rebbetzin Malkah's,
go to a neighbor with a pond, or call your local mikvah - they have
keilim mikvahs just for this purpose.
